Pretty village house for 4 in Minervois wine-district
In
the heart of the Minervois vineyards, surrounded by copses, stone-outcrops
and gentle slopes covered in vines --- and further
out, the moors and crags of the garigue – the village of
Azillanet is a very pretty example of the south of France , the
Midi an d the Mediterranean. It is a joy to walk around its broad
tree-lined streets and shady squares, its narrow lanes and old
stone-built houses. There is a visual treat around every corner,
be it an old well, a flower-bedecked doorway or balcony, a flourishing
vegetab le-garden --- or sudden glimpses of pockets of vines
where the countryside slips in between the lanes. A feast in
random stone-work,
greenery and flowers !

| Yet
there are plenty of facilities nearby . It’s a five-minutes
drive to the market town of Olonzac, for shops, cafés
and restaurants ; It is ten minutes to the ancient citadel
of Minerve, perched incredibly above a gorge ; it is forty
minutes to historic Carcassonne ; and about the same distance
to Narbonne & access to the sea & coastal lands
of the Mediterranean .

THE HOUSE opens out on to a sunny/shady street with plenty
of parking for cars . People often sit out here in the
street to chat, although some houses (like this one) have
open roof-top terraces. Inside the house has been well-modernised
but retains its traditional character.
THE GROUND FLOOR has an agttractive
open-plan kitchen-cum- living room. The kitchen has
good cooking facilities, fridge-freezer,
micro-wave, coffee-maker etc, dining area, and there is
access to a washing-machine.

UPSTAIRS there
is a bedroom with double-bed and another with two bunk-beds
; above this there is a mezzanine floor with two more single
beds, so one can sleep six (although normally the owner
prefers to limit to four). There is an attractive bathroom
with two basins, bath & w.c. Passing this, one steps
on to a roof-terrace which is equipped for sitting out & dining
in the fresh-air.

have agreed availability we will ask you to send us an ordinary British
bank cheque (or agreed alternative) for one-quarter of the total rent;
on receipt of that we write to confirm the reservation with advice on
further payment (We simply ask you to send another cheque for the rest
2 months before the holiday).
The rents quoted here include all services, bedding, house towels and
fuel.
