Four_bedroomed (2 bathrooms) farmhouse for 8/10 people with pool, in pretty setting near historic village and moorlands.
'Les Rougeous ' is half-a-mile from the once fortified village of
Laurac le Grand, the capital of the Lauragais in the Middle Ages. It is
near to the walled city of Carcassonne (30 mins drive) and the Canal du
Midi (5 mins) and 20 mins from the medieval market square of Mirepoix.
The farmhouse is situated where a lane from the village gives way to
open moors --- you can walk from the garden on to the moors and its
paths.

There
are fine views of the plain of the Lauragais and the Montagne Noire.
The peace is disturbed only by the occasional quack of a farm duck or
the cry of a hovering bird of prey. But Castelnaudary, with shops,
supermarkets, restaurants, swimming pool and sports facilities is only
a ten minutes (very pleasant) car drive. The farm-owners, who have an
apartment adjoining out building, will give you a warm welcome and will
introduce you to local home-grown food and wine.

THE
HOUSE
This
is an ordinary traditional French farmhouse with tiled floors and
shuttered windows, designed to be cool in the summer and cosy in the
winter. It is comfortable and well-modernised. There is an open fire
place(logs provided) and some background electrical heating, all
windows have fly-screens.

Ground
floor : Kitchen , well equipped, with all utensils and
including dish washer, fridge-freezer, gas cooker hob and
electric oven, micro-wave, coffee- maker, washing- machine.
Dining room with fireplace. Downstairs bathroom with shower
& hand basin & W.C. Sitting room (36 sq.metres)
with easy chairs and TV, French windows leading to garden.
First floor : Three double bedrooms, two containing
an additional single bed and one with two single beds, bathroom
with bath, shower, hand basin and w. c.
Outside : There
are lawns on three sides and trees in the pretty garden to provide
shade for dining. There is an 9mX4,5m swimming pool with terraces all
around. Garden area with chairs, tables and sun-beds. Range of farm
building, yard, meadows and sunflowers lead to moors and valleys.

British bank cheque (or agreed alternative) for one-quarter
of the total rent; on receipt of that we write to confirm the
reservation with advice on further payment
(We simply ask
you to send another cheque for the rest 2 months before the
holiday).
The rents quoted here include all services, bedding, house towels
and fuel.
