| The
Cottage is created from the fine outbuidings of a large
country-house -- former 'château de Saint des Plats'
-- about 3km drive from the market-town of Castelnaudary
and near the "Canal du Midi" and 30 mn from the
Old City of Carcassonne. It is up a lane off a country back-road
hence in a very quiet situation. From the shaded outdoor
dining-area in front of the cottage there are views across
rolling countryside to the mountains of the Pyrenees. All
around there are several acres of parkland with interesting
architectural features -- the windmill, the stables, classical
terrace and pretty facades -- and gardens with flowers &
superb mature trees. Yet despite the classical features
the atmosphere is relaxed rather than dignified ; the owners
(and their children) ensure an environment in which children
can play and find adventure and in which adults can enjoy
pleasant walks. A swimming-pool is under construction &
will be ready for June 2OO6 (commercial photo shown). .

The owners
have lovingly restored the cottage, equipping it to
a high standard but retaining traditional features --
a quality which is difficult to convey in these pictures
(the superb floor-tiles are an example). A peaceful
ambience iscreated by natural stone, exposed timbers
and the subtle colouring of walls.

a glimpse of the spacious grounds.

cottage has three large bedrooms, one double, one with two
singles, and a large attic with three singles. On the ground
floor there is a large living-room and dining-area with
an alcove for an additional double bed (120 cm). The living-area
has TV & video-player. There is a ground-floor bathroom
(bath, hand-basin & w.c.) and an upstairs shower-room
(shower, hand-basin & w.c.). The kitchen section is
well-equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dish-washer,
good range of utensils & crockery, washing-macine. In
front is an outdoor dining & barbecue-area. |

have agreed availability we will ask you to send us an ordinary
British bank cheque (or agreed alternative) for one-quarter
of the total rent; on receipt of that we write to confirm the
reservation with advice on further payment
(We simply ask
you to send another cheque for the rest 2 months before the
holiday).
The rents quoted here include all services, bedding, house towels
and fuel.
